It only takes a spark to get a fire burning!

Church is for our loved ones!

“No one reaches the kingdom of heaven except by humility” Saint Augustine

The millennial generation are spiritual, but not religious. This is the group of young people from age 18 to 39 years of age. The Paulist’s are tying to find creative ways to reach out to young adult Catholics. We need to be more charitable, loving and understanding when engaging young people says Theresa Aletheia Noble, author. We want to grow in humility and so, we need to pray for humility. Some people do not want to practice humility, because it is hard to be less recognized. Humility is a slow process of truth and silence. Jesus is the truth and he founded the church. The Holy Spirit guides the church.

We know that the Church can be believed in matters of faith and morals, we have to keep in mind that Human beings travel in what Theresa calls “little t” truth territory. Because we can think, we have reason, so we know truth but with a big”T” we will never in this life fully know Truth. There is a mystery about God and we will never know the full truth in this life.

Listening to a feeling is listening to God. Then the author felt joy. “This feeling is the Holy Spirit. We can generally be confident we are acting on the Holy Spirit’s initiative and developing our “spiritual sense’ correctly if feelings of peace, love, and job accompany an inspiration.”Pg43 The fruit of our actions often show us whether or not we are walking the path of inspiration.

If we feel fear, it is helpful to explore the source of our fear. When we frame our message in love and hope rather than fear, we place our trust in a God who holds every singe person deeply in his heart and wants their salvation even more than we do. Pg46 The spirit will ordinarily speak to us…

“Relativism, that is letting oneself be ‘tossed here and there, carried about by every wind of doctrine’ seems the only attitude that can cope with modern times.” Pg. 65

Catholics believe that grace for salvation is only found securely through Christ and in the Church.

The book’s argument is to bring fallen away Catholics back to the church. Theresa Aletheia Nobel gives her personal testimony about her experiences. This is not an easy read, but one that people with faith should read. The author is persuading us to her point of view and giving advice to us on how to bring Catholic’s back to the church.
